Vita
Tanja Rechnitzer has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Philosophy at Leibniz University Hannover since March 2021. Previously, she completed her PhD in philosophy at the University of Bern in 2018 with a thesis on the applicability of reflective equilibrium. Her research interests are in (social) epistemology, metaphilosophy, philosophy of science, and applied ethics.
Contribution to SOCRATES
Tanja is broadly interested in the relationship between science and society, exploring questions such as the role of experts in a democratic society or how science and the public should communicate with each other. Tanja examines these topics not only in her philosophical research but also in her teaching and various outreach activities. In the context of SOCRATES, she wants to have a closer look at philosophical methodology and expertise.
