Vita
George is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences (CELLS) at Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. He obtained his PhD in Philosophy from Leibniz University Hannover with a thesis on the epistemic and moral dimensions of testimony in scientific research. George holds a Masters degree in Philosophy from the University of Ghana.
Contribution to SOCRATES
George has interest in social epistemology, epistemology of testimony, epistemic trust in science and how these fields relate to science communication. He will contribute to SOCRATES by evaluating the credibility of group testimony and group trustworthiness as it relates to the recommendations of public health agencies and regulatory bodies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and expert groups such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and their interactions with policy makers and the public.
