Donal Khosrowi is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Philosophy at Leibniz University Hannover. His research focuses on the epistemology and ethics of artificial intelligence and machine learning, especially engaging issues of scientific discovery and creativity; the philosophy of science of models and experiments, with a view towards the role of moral and political values; and philosophy of social science and economics, focusing on evidence-based policy and its methodological tenets.
Contribution to SOCRATES
Donal contributes to SOCRATES through his expertise on responsible use of models and experimental evidence for informing policy and decision-making, and his current research focus on AI-driven science and issues of reliability, transparency, trustworthiness, and value-alignment. He is particularly interested in collaborating with other SOCRATES scholars on themes exploring what epistemic roles AI/ML can play in the sciences and how to facilitate well-functioning interactions between human investigators and machines with a view towards the relationship between credibility, trustworthiness, and explainability.
