Contribution to SOCRATES
In Hannover, Zinhle's research will be a philosophical analysis of the currently controversial practice of ‘race correction’ in medicine – the use of race in algorithms to predict medical risk in nephrology, cardiology, pulmonology, and obstetrics, amongst others. Employing a global perspective, she will focus on the implications of race correction on trust of the health care system by historically disadvantaged racial and ethnic groups.
