Contribution to SOCRATES

At SOCRATES, Quill will continue their research on the ethics and pragmatics of science communication; the representation and communication of risk and uncertainty; and the social epistemology of maps and other visual representations of information. They will also develop a new collaborative research program on how speaker authority, particularly the authority of scientists, citizens, and science policy makers, is shaped by the locations in which speech happens (on campuses, on the pages of journals or newspapers, or at protests, for example).
