Vita

Born and raised in former East Germany, Marco initially studied management and pursued a career in business before discovering his love(s) for Aotearoa New Zealand and philosophy. With degrees from Oxford, Auckland, and Otago, he now works as a Research Fellow at the University of Auckland | Waipapa Taumata Rau, mainly specialising in ethics (both normative and practical), political and social philosophy, as well as environmental philosophy.

Contribution to SOCRATES

A key area of Marco’s research is dedicated to social practices, practitioners, and practice communities, with special focus on their significance for and role in meeting the challenge of global climate change. This interest includes work on conceptual foundations, normative dimensions, transformative potential, and issues like the role of trust for practices.
